When working with people, staff strive to ensure that the individual remains in charge of her situation. Staff recognize and acknowledge that women have the ability to be independent and honour and encourage mutual respect at all times. The central issue in the provision of supports, is to appreciate the need for people to have control over the resolution and outcome of their situation. While keeping in mind the risk involved to the women and others around them, staff work with people to help them restore their sense of control over their lives so that they can maintain their desired independence. At 416 we demonstrate hope, care and concern in all that we do.
